About Us

Mission View Funeral Chapel Ltd. was established in 1992 by Derrick Kruk. In 1996 he married Nola and together they served the Lac La Biche area for over 25 years. In November 2017, Jeff and Teresa Thackeray were honored to take over the well established business and continue to serve the area.  

Jeff and Teresa currently reside in Bonnyville, they have 2 children, Sydney and Scott. Together they also, own and operate Memento Funeral Chapel, a family run business since 1975 when Jeff's parents, Don and Elda Thackeray purchased it. In fact, Derrick once lived in Bonnyville and was employed by Don in the mid 1980's. It's kind of interesting how things turn out!

The Alberta Funeral Service Association honored four of our staff with long standing awards, Don with his 50th, Elda with her 40th, Derrick with his 35th and Jeff with his 25th year award for their service and dedication in the funeral industry. Together, with our team, we will continue to strive to serve all communities with outmost respect and dignity.
