On Tuesday, January 3, 2017 Ben Berland of Big Bay, AB passed away at the age of 77 years. Ben is survived by his children Mavis (Pat) Berland Morris of Terrace, BC, Benjamin Berland (Tanja Puhlmann) of Prince George, BC,  Elsa Berland of Nak’azdli, BC, Chi Chum Finlay Berland of Prince George, BC, siblings Lorraine Laboucane of Lac La Biche, AB, Mary (Larry) Rondeau of Winnipeg, Man. Lawrence (Irene) Berland of Big Bay, AB, Annie Berland of Big Bay, AB, Hazel Patenaude of Buffalo Lake, AB, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins and friends, Ben is predeceased by his wife Linda Thiesen, parents Nancy and George Berland, brother George Berland, sisters Alvina Berland, Irene Auger and Lena Berland.

A two day Wake started on Sunday January 8, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Arthur and Anita Cadieux Agriplex in Lac La Biche, AB.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Lac La Biche with Father Trini Pinca officiating and interment followed in the Willow Park Cemetery Lac La Biche, AB.

Honourary Pallbearers were Tina Aldred, Lavern Cameron, Dion Castor, Gary Harpe, Craig "my boy" McDonald, Eileen Mitchell, Leana Patenaude, Billy Taha.

Pallbearers were George Berland, Jamie Berland, Lawrence Berland Jr., Benny Desjarlais, Bob Laboucane, Rick Laboucane, Lance Patenaude, Shaun Reed.
