Paul Wowk, born on March 14, 1930, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved grandfather, and proud great-grandfather. Paul's life was one filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of family.
Paul is survived by his
Children: Darlene (Dwayne), Phylis (Bruce), Danny (Brenda), Dwayne (Suzanne), and Jackie (Randy). Grandchildren: Candice (Scott), Adam (Chantell), Ryan (Kristen), Shannon, Melissa (Andrew), Ryley (Alanna), Kaylee, Scott (Jayleen), Dawn (Dave), Shalayne (Edward), Craig (Cathy), and Jesse. Great-grandchildren: Jaden, Chase, Taylah, Aidymn, Ryder, Evva, Brady, Olive, Ellie, Jameson, Isaac, Rivia, and Ellis. Sister-in-laws: Denise Wowk, Rose Wowk, Olga Corse, and Sophie Chwedoruk and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years, Mary, who passed away on February 5th, 2018.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents: Dmytro and Lucy, Siblings: Steve, John, and Eddie, Mother & Father- in-law Michalina & Antoni Chwedoruk, Sister-in-laws: Sylvia Wowk, Helen Palamaruk, Nina Chwedoruk. Ann Smolak, Brother-in-laws: Bill Palamaruk , Joe Chwedoruk , Don Corse, Walter Chwedoruk, and Pete Smolak, Nieces & Nephews: Donna Wowk, Linda Chwedoruk, Chris Wowk, and Brian Chwedoruk.
Paul was a pillar of strength and love within his family. He will forever be remembered as "Gogo" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a title that brought him immense joy and pride. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew him. Though our hearts ache with his passing, we find solace in the knowledge that Paul is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mary, whom he missed dearly. Their love endures beyond the confines of this earthly life.
A funeral service in celebration of Paul's life will be held on Saturday, February 17th, at 11:00 am at St. Catherine’s Parish, located at 10303 Churchill Dr, Lac la Biche, AB T0A 2C0. The service will be followed by a burial at Willow Park Cemetery. All who knew and loved Paul are invited to join in honoring his memory.
