Sylvester (Syl) Mudry

On Friday, June 30 Sylvester “Syl” Mudry passed away peacefully at the age of 80 years, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Syl is survived by his special friend and companion Marguerite Ulliac of Lac La Biche, children Sheryl Derko of Airdrie, Laureen (Gary) Lachance of Athabasca, Stephen (Michelle) Mudry of Fort Saskatchewan, Amy Holst of Warburg, Michael (Amber) Mudry of Edmonton, 7 grandchildren Tyler (Jamie) Derko of Airdrie, Janelle (Casey )Robb of Victoria, BC, Danielle Runnalls of Athabasca, Rene (Sarah) Lachance of Boyle, Matthew Mudry of Edmonton, Nicholas Mudry of Edmonton, Alyssa Mudry of Edmonton, great grandchildren Rylee and Aubrey Derko of Airdrie, Roman Runnalls of Athabasca, Tala and Foalan Lachance of Boyle, Asher Robb of Victoria, BC, brother William (Mary) Mudry of Edmonton, sisters Genevieve Sydor of Camrose and Elaine Gunderson of Stony Plain, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Syl is predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2009, father Stephen in 1963, mother Catherine in 2002, brother’s in law Richard Gunderson in 2006, Willie Sydor in 1996

Funeral Services were held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Bold Centre "Devon Room" in Lac La Biche, AB with Rev. Don Bodnar officiating and cremation took place following the service.

Pallbearers were Tyler Derko, Gary Lachance, Rene Lachance, Matthew Mudry, Michael Mudry, Stephen Mudry. 

Donations to the Athabasca Health Care Center “Palliative Care Pod 2” would be appreciated.
