Alice Richard

With broken hearts, the family of Alice Richard announce her passing on May 19, 2025, in Lac La Biche, Alberta.

Alice lived a vibrant 92 years. Born August 19, 1932, in Bernie, Alberta to Louis and Cora Lemay. At the age of 19, she married Etienne and moved to Normandeau, Alberta, where she raised her 5 children. Alice loved to garden, plant flowers, sew, crochet and knit. Alice also loved babies and was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Life threw challenges her way by being widowed at the young age of 34. She embraced her new role as a young widow, young mother, a father and farmer with grit and determination. She worked hard all day and night to ensure everyone had what was needed to grow into whatever they wanted. In her senior years, she participated in community activities of bowling and floor curling. After 70 years on the farm, it was decided she move into Golden Sands, and then to the Long Term Care at the Lac La Biche Hospital.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her children: Lorraine Bourassa, Sharalee Richard, Andre (Lynn) Richard, Jeannette (Dale) Pittman, Dianne (Mike) Canty. Beloved Memere of Lyne, Michel, Adrien, Alain, Kelsey, Karlee, Jordan, Leisha, Stacey, Elliot, Carmen, Lee Colin; Beloved Grand Memere of Emma, Brantley, Greyson, Emerson, Brooke, Liam, Nya, Declan, Maren, Sloan, Rexen, Phaedra, Evelyn, Bryce, Olsen, Noel, Martin, Lionel, Casey, Kennedy, Emery; sister: Louise Duperron; Alphonse Bourassa.

Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband: Etienne; her son: Paul; her parents: Louis and Cora Lemay; her brother: George Lemay.

Funeral Service: Monday, May 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Lac La Biche, Alberta.

Pallbearers: Michel Bourassa, Adrien Bourassa, Alain Bourassa, Jordan Richard, Lee Ringuette, Colin Ringuette.

Luncheon to follow at the Heritage Centre, Lac La Biche, Alberta.
