Arthur ‘Jacques’ Bourassa, born October 15, 1939 in Amesbury, Alberta , passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, in Lac La Biche, Alberta.
Jacques was a man of strength, resilience, and devotion. He and his wife, Margaret, built a life together in Breynat, raising three children and cherishing 61 years of marriage. He founded Bourassa Truck Service & Backhoe Ltd., building the company with hard work and determination. Jacques loved spending time outdoors, in his shop, and most of all, being with his family.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 61 years, Margaret Bourassa (nee Plante); children: Sheila Bourassa, Cherri (Brad) Sakowich, Jason Bourassa; grandchildren: Ethan Sakowich (Madison Chwedoruk), Zachary Bourassa, Devon Smith, Jacob Sakowich, Damon Smith, Zoe Bourassa, Desirée Smith, Zayden Bourassa, Marcus Sakowich; great grandchildren: Skylar Cardinal, Carson Fudge; brothers: Noe Bourassa, Bernard Bourassa; sister: Marie Beaudry; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
He was predeceased by his parents: Arthur & Josephine Bourassa; siblings: Bruno, Jean Baptiste, Brian, Alda, Imelda, Claire, Georgianna, Rose.
A private family gathering has taken place, with a graveside service to be held at a later date.
