Elizabeth Alice Hawke

It is with profound sadness that the family of Elizabeth Alice Hawke of Lac La Biche, Alberta announces her passing on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the age of 95 years.

Alice is lovingly survived by her daughter: Davene Sharon Linda D’Amico; son: Gabriel James McLean; granddaughter: Veronica Jean Wilson; great granddaughter: Kayly Davene Barks, Raeleen Joanne Bater, Sierra Gates; great grandsons: Chance Rankin, Lachlan Wilson; sisters: Judy Lackmanec, Odette Misiewich, Frances Bodnar; brother: Henry Chorney; as well as numerous great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Alice was predeceased by her spouses: Ernest Hawke, John Alberta McLean; grandsons: Rory Michael Brown, Alexander James McLean; father: John Alexander Chorney; mother: Jenny Pearl Meronyk; brother: Daniel Chorney.

She was a pioneer, the oldest on a farm. She became a trapper in her 60s. She was a positive and emotionally strong woman. Depression was not in her vocabulary. She loved, nursed and buried two spouses and lived the rest of her life in her own way. She could be very stubborn. She will be missed by many.

As per Alice’s request, no funeral service will be held.
