Elizabeth Marie Desjarlais Obituary

Elizabeth Marie Desjarlais, a devoted homemaker and the heart of her family, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Fort McMurray, Alberta, at the age of 88 years.

A lover of the outdoors and old country music, she was happiest when the sun was out and the radio was playing. Her life was defined by her selfless care for others, having raised generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren with patience and pride. Known for her signature love of the colour purple, she brought brightness to every room. Elizabeth was always ready for an adventure; she famously “hitchhiked” her way into family vehicles to ensure she never missed a road trip or a simple drive. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, long rides, and a family that will miss her deeply.

She will be going in to the arms of her husband Tommy “Thomy” Desjarlais; children: Ernest, Dan, Rita, Lawrence, Raymond, William, Alex, Archie, Jimmy and Dennis; beloved grandchildren: Daylyn Mason, Rachel Keith, AJ.; parents: Sylvester “Sylvest” & Marie Bone; brothers: Rene Bone, Joe Bone; sister: Bertha Reid, Martha Bone, Shirley Bone; grandparents: Lili & Edward Caster.

She will be going home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, to Conklin, Alberta (Conklin MultiPlex), leaving Mission View Funeral Chapel at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Conklin MultiPlex, with burial to follow at the St. Vincent Cemetery.

Father Jayson Durante will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Kyle Desjarlais, Darren Auger, Dale Quintal, Tyrell Whitford, Tristan Memnook, Daryl Quintal.

Honorary Pallbearers: All who knew and loved Elizabeth.
