Emilene Shirley Jackson

Through tears of sadness, the family of Emilene Shirley Jackson, announces her passing on November 15, 2025, at the age of 66 years, in Lac La Biche, Alberta. 

She is lovingly survived by her spouse: Robert Russell Desjarlais; children: Terry Gadwa, Sandra (Brian) Gadwa, Kristy (Erica) Gadwa, Jennifer Gadwa, Leonard Jackson, Winona Jackson, Trina (Brendon) Jackson; grandchildren: Nevaeh, Sadie, Tanisha, Darion, Daniel, Dre, Damon, Tyrese, Hazen, Ryden, Lucien, Kolby, Nigel, Amek, Lehi, Xander, Xavier, Xane, Blaze; great grandson: Noah; great grandaughter: Imogene; siblings: Ernest (Violet) Cardinal, Jerome (Michelle) Cardinal, Teresa Bray, Susan Desjarlais, Charlie Desjarlais, Alvina (Emil) Desjarlais, Lorraine (Ronnie) Berard-Whitford, Dorothy Desjarlais; God daughters: Gayle Desjarlais, Diane Ponicappo; God son: Jesse Leonard Joseph Desjarlais; as well numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. 

She will be going in to the arms of her parents: Alex & Caroline Desjarlais; brothers: Richard, Randy, Albert; grandsons: Derrik, Wyatt; nephew: James; niece: Claudette. 

Emilene will be going home to Beaver Lake Cree Nation on Thursday, November 20, 2025, leaving Mission View Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. 133 Sentinel Drive, Lac La Biche, Alberta. 

Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Beaver Lake Multiplex, 2467 Cardinal Drive, Beaver Lake Nation, Alberta. 

Pallbearers: Emil Desjarlais, Ryan Desjarlais, William Cardinal, Nathan Cardinal, Casey Gadwa, Willie Gadwa. 

Honorary pallbearers: Jesse Leonard Joseph Desjarlais.
