Grace Cadieux Obituary

Grace Cadieux, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on January 23, 2025 after a courageous battle with a severe stroke and cancer.  Born on December 17, 1953, Grace’s life is a true testimony of Love, Laughter and Amazing Strength.

Grandma was a woman of many talents and passions, which she loved sharing with Gordon, her best friend and husband of 54 years, along with her family and friends.  Her passion for cooking, gardening and sewing is something she has passed onto her children and grandchildren and will not only be forever cherished, but will also be missed as all other efforts will never compare.  Throughout her life, Grace was an extremely hard worker, balancing her career and raising her family along with many foster children on their farm in Hylo.  Later as her life allowed, she embraced her personal enthusiasm for the outdoors and traveling which became new highlights and rewards in her life.  She enjoyed many camping and fishing trips and treasured her new second home, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the many cherished friends there who quickly became family to her.

Grace is lovingly survived by her beloved husband, Gordon Cadieux, and their four children: Gloria Cadieux (Keith), Gail (Ross) Duchnych, Glennie (Claudia) Cadieux, Glenda (Jon) Summers.  She will be deeply missed by her nine grandchildren: Chevaun (Mark), Brittany (Brad), Tyler (Brayden), Chantal (Craig), Bailey, Dalya (Yusef), Alyssa (Jarret), Miya, Deyalla and her 4 great grandchildren: Bowen, Brooke, Knox and Georgia.

Grace is predeceased by her parents Marcel and Polly Warawa, brother William Warawa, sister Donna Boucher, grandparents Fred and Maria Warawa, William and Eva Ponich.

All the beautiful and inspiring memories of our amazing Grace will live on through her family and friends, whose lives have been enriched by her unwavering love and undeniable strength.  She will forever be her family’s hero and mentor. A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate Grace’s life.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to William J. Cadzow Health Centre.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Lac La Biche Healthcare Centre nursing staff for their kindness and compassionate care of Grace.

Respectfully submitted the family.
