Irvin Cardinal

The family of Irvin Cardinal of Beaver Lake, Alberta, are deeply saddened to announce the sunset for their brother, uncle, nephew and cousin on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 63 years, in Lac La Biche, Alberta.

Irvin was great at everything he did. He was a dedicated firefighter, pool shark and a fast ball player. He gave his heart and soul to his family; with a very special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Lily.

He is lovingly survived by his granddaughter: Lily Georgina Bighead; special grandchildren: Nigel, Laurie; brothers: Mike Jackson, Leonard (Myrtle) Jackson, Floyd Jackson; step-brother: Joey Huppie; sisters: Clara Cardinal, Melva Cardinal; nephews: Francis godchildren: LJ, Jace, Trina; numerous other family & friends.

Irvin will be going into the arms of his son: Shane Rabbit; parents: John Jackson, Georgina Cardinal; sister: Rita Jackson; brothers: Douglas Cardinal, Prosper Jackson, Baby-Boy Paul; niece: Diane Ponicappo; maternal grandparents: Norman Cardinal, Isabella Gladue; paternal grandparents: Joe & Justina Jackson.

He will be going home to Beaver Lake Cree Nation on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (leaving Mission View Funeral Chapel at 12:00 p.m.).

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the Beaver Lake Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers: LJ Jackson, Gary Lameman, Wade Lameman, Xander Cardinal, Marcel Taylor, Jace Lewis.
