John Burk

John Burk, in his 64th year passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the Athabasca Care Center surrounded by love with Colleen at his side.

He will be remembered by his laugh, his sense of humor, and his larger-than-life personality.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Teryl Lisa, Jason Wayne Douglas, Dawson, Sienna; grandchildren: Morgan, Mattie, Michaela, Kendra, Natasha, Jason Jr., Emerise and great grandchild: Mateo

He is survived by his siblings: Daryl (Mary), Deb (Dan), Dale (Vicki), Janet (Tim) and Scott

John was predeceased by his mother: Donna Armstrong (nee Burk, Smith), his father: Doug Burk and stepmother: Susan Burk

John will be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and by Colleen’s family: T.J. (Terri), Amber (Brad); grandchildren: Kaden, Braxton, Jace, Shea-Lynn, Mya, Naithan, Markus, Linden and first great grandchild: Miller – all of whom held a special place in his heart.

John navigated life on his own terms and always had a joke to share and a story to tell. His sense of humor, independent spirit, and memorable presence will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and none of us will ever forget him.
