Joseph James Gladu (Joe)

It is with deep sadness, that the family of Joseph James Gladu (Joe) of Beaver Lake, Alberta announces his passing on October 14, 2022 at the age of 33 years. (Found January 17, 2023)

Joseph will be lovingly remembered by his parents: George Gladu and Lily Cardinal; sister: Lacey Cardinal, Jenny (Shaun) Mountain; brothers: Keith (Sarah) Cardinal, Derek (Caitlin) Gladu, Philip Gladue, George (Erin) Whitford; honorary siblings: Nick (Crystal) Barlett, Kristin Anderson; nieces: Alaya Gladue, Ciarez Whitford, Brenna Vesterfelt, Kenndra Vesterfelt, Jasmine Mountain;  Godchild: Emily Mountain; Godparents: Joey (Carolyn) Huppie; nephews: Isaiah Cree, Keith “Baby” Bull, Zaiden Bull, Draydon Mountain, Damien Whitford, George Desjarlais, Hunter Lazarre; uncles: Boxer (Tina) Cardinal, Henry (Jackie) Gladue, Clarence “Corn” Gladue, Melvin (Della) Gladue,  Walter Gladue, Wayne Gladue, Dwayne Gladue; aunts: Carolyn (Joey) Huppie, Lorli Cardinal,  Yvonne (Gerald Boostrom) Gladue, Alvina Gladue, Sylvia Gladue, Lorna Gladue; as well as numerous cousins and other family members.

Joseph was predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Joe A. Cardinal and Elmere Tremblay; paternal grandparents; Philip and Louise Gladue; brother: Keith “Skinny” Whitford; nephew: Priceton Cardinal; niece: Elmere Cardinal; uncles: Peter Tremblay, Glenn Tremblay, Patrick Tremblay; aunt: Lisa “Bird” Bertha Gladue; cousins: Charmaine Cardinal, Tigan Boostrom; as well as numerous cousins and family members.

Wake: Friday, May 12, 2023, Beaver Lake Community Centre (leaving Mission View Funeral Chapel at 11:00am), Beaver Lake, Alberta.

Funeral Service: Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., Beaver Lake Community Centre, Beaver Lake, Alberta.

Pallbearers: James Lameman, Chad Cardinal, Terence Cardinal, Ethan Howse, Trevor Boostrom, Joseph Cardinal.

Honorary Pallbearers: James Twin, Guy Mountain, Donald Mountain, Evan Cardinal, Christopher Gladue, Amanda Cardinal, Gina Huppie, Chelsey Desjarlais and all the girls Joe protected.

Final resting place: Beaver Lake Community Cemetery, Beaver Lake, Alberta.
