On Wednesday, April 21, 2021 Lawrence “Sonny” Smith of Lac La Biche, AB passed away at the age of 87 years.

Lawrence is survived by his son: Roger (Annette) Smith; 3 daughters: Glenda (Jack) Dechaine, Shelley (Cecil) Plamondon, Linda (Brian) Smith-Weymouth; 13 grandchildren: Dawn (Dustin) Blondeau, Ashley Langdown, Kris (Cassie) Smith, Kyle (Tiffany) Smith, Matthew (Amanda) Dechaine, Samantha Dechaine, Nicole (Landin) Childs, Adam Dechaine, Jared Dechaine, Tyler (Darleen Lee) Smith, Jaylynn (Devon Craig) Plamondon, Bryan (Leasa Lachance) Weymouth, Kylee Weymouth; 13 great grandchildren; 6 sisters: Dolly Marcellus, Helen (Wayne) Callihoo, Joyce McInroy, Freda (Doug) Mohr, Rhoda Smith, Violet (Paul) Bias; 5 brothers: George (Heather) Malbeuf, Raymond Malbeuf, Donald Malbeuf, Howard (Elaine) Malbeuf, Jim (Evelyn) Malbeuf.

Lawrence is predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years; Dolores "Faye" Smith; parents: Edward Smith, Jean & Elie Malbeuf; sister: Bertha Bota; brother: Neal Malbeuf; sister in law: Diane Malbeuf; 4 brother in laws: Ron Bota, Keith Marcellus, John McInroy, Don Smith.
