Lawson Gordon

With great sadness, the family of Lawson Gordon of Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, Alberta announces his passing on June 12, 2026 at the age of 78 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Troy Gordon of Buffalo Lake, Lawson Gordon Jr of Buffalo Lake; daughters: Priscilla Gordon of Buffalo Lake, Judy Poitras of North West Territories; brothers: Russel Gordon, Arthur “Pat” (Donna) Gordon, Bruce (Sandy) Gordon, Don (Elsie) Gordon, Alex (Nancy) Gordon; sister: Laura Gordon Mahowich; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren.

Lawson is predeceased by his son: August Poitras; wives: Lucille Cardinal, Margy Cardinal Gordon, Martha Poitras; parents: Alex & Victoria Gordon; brothers: Jim Hillyard, John “Jack” Gordon, Robert “Bob” Gordon, Earl Gordon; sister: Louise Hillyard

Funeral, Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Buffalo Lake Recreation Centre, Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, Alberta at 1:00 p.m. with Joe Kuraitis officiating. Burial to follow at the Buffalo Lake Community Cemetery.
