Leonard "Kerry" MacDonald

With much love and deep sorrow, the family of Leonard “Kerry” MacDonald of Lac La Biche, Alberta (formerly of Moncton, New Brunswick) is saddened to announce his passing on May 23, 2023 at the age of 69 years.

Kerry will be forever loved by his wife of 42 years, Diane MacDonald (nee Donnelly); daughter: Melanie (Mike) Basse; grandchildren: Brianna Turvey, Cole Stephenson, Paul Stephenson; step grandchildren: Mykelti Hayward, Colton Hayward; brothers: Darrell (Deniese) MacDonald; sisters: Cheryl (Brian) Botton, Lynn (Gary) Carter.

Kerry was predeceased by his parents: Warren & Doris MacDonald.

Kerry was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, race down the trails on his quad in the summer months and his sled in the winter.  He was an athlete on his leisure time in his youth and graduated to ‘arm chair coach’ in his later years.  Kerry retired from Atco Electric after 32 years of service and devoted himself full time to enjoying time with his wife, family and friends; as well as his favorite pursuits at the lake where he and Diane had long planned to spend their ‘golden years’. Gone too soon, his memory and legacy will live on in the wisdom and lessons that he passed on along the way.

A Celebration of Kerry’s Life will be held at their home at a later date.

Memorial tributes in memory of Kerry may be sent to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
