On August 30, 2023, Lilly Onischuk of Lac La Biche passed away a month short of her 91st birthday. Lilly is lovingly remembered and survived by her son Dan (Louise) Onischuk and grandsons Lyle and Lloyd, son Ron Onischuk, sisters Sophie Hamar, Anne (George) Fleming and Jane Armstrong, brothers Nick (Lucille) Burdek and Dennis (Barbara) Burdek, special friend Dianna Wabie and all of Lilly’s extended family and friends. Lilly was predeceased by her parents Peter and Doris Burdek, her husband Alec, her brothers John Burdek and George Burdek, and her sister Mary Rizzoli.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10:00 am at the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the Rev. Fr. Dr. Roman Shiyan officiating. Internment will follow in the St. Demetrius cemetery.
