Lola Marvelyn Zbukvich

The family of Lola Marvelyn Zbukvich sadly announces her passing on April 6, 2026, at the age of 84 years, in Lac La Biche, Alberta.

She was a vibrant soul who lived a life defined by faith, creativity, and a "spitfire" spirit. A dedicated servant to her church, she spent years as a secretary and Bible study leader, always finding joy in doing for others. Her sharp wit and wicked sense of humor stayed with her through the years, lighting up every room she entered.

An incredibly talented artist, Lola was an accomplished painter whose work was featured in a professional calendar. Her hands were rarely still; she was a master of knitting, crocheting, sewing, and crafting. Music was her heartbeat, whether she was playing the accordion, saxophone, or keyboard. Lola’s love for adventure took her across the globe, including a deeply meaningful pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Though she travelled far, her heart was always at peace in the beauty of the mountains. She leaves behind a legacy of art, music, and unwavering faith.

Lola’s memory will forever be cherished by her children: Kathy (Dennis) Bulmer, Jackie Kastikainen (nee Zbukvich); grandchildren: Stjepan (Michelle) Bulmer, Joshua Bulmer, Julia Bulmer, Emily Giovagnoli; great grandchildren: Sydney Bulmer, Bailey Bulmer, Ayden Bulmer, Ezra Giovagnoli; as well as many family & friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Stjepan Zbukvich; parents: John & Myrtle Johnson; siblings Lloyd (Laura) Johnson, Jean Johnson (Lloyd George), Leland (Kay) Johnson, Marion Johnson (Vertus Herron).

A private internment has taken place with her final resting place at the South Haven Cemetery, Sherwood Park, Alberta.

A memorial service will take place at a later date in Boyle, Alberta.
