With grateful hearts for life well lived, the family of Louis Duperron of Lac La Biche, Alberta sadly announces the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the age of 97 years.
Louis was born in Plamondon on December 26, 1928 and had eighteen siblings; when he was four years old, his family moved to Wandering River. Growing up, he worked in the family business and enjoyed playing baseball, even though they had to travel quite a distance to play games and tournaments. Louis bought his first vehicle for only $50, a 1923 Chevy; before this, he and his family traveled into Wandering River with a horse and a buggy!
At 19, Louis was married to the love of his life, Della, and they ended up having four children together. They bought land that was completely covered in nothing but trees, however, with much hard work and perseverance, Louis and his family transformed the property.
While living at Extendicare in Athabasca, Louis was asked what his advise to the younger generations would be, which he replied: “Will power can be a very important thing to have and it can get you throug pretty much everything.”
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of beautiful memories are his children: Morris (Shirley) Duperron of Lac La Biche, AB, Dolores (Roger) Lesperance of Stony Plain, AB, Marvin (Colleen) Duperron of Wandering River, AB, Robert (Joni) Duperron of Leduc, AB; grandchildren: Corina (Dwayne) Paré, Tracy (Murray) Zayik, Victor Lord, Charlene Lord (Kevin Fraser), Vanessa (Ryan) McGregor, Chad Forsey, Shawna White, Mark Forsey, and his best friend, Kyle Duperron; numerous treasured great grandchildren; sisters: Margaret Ulliac, Louise Kennedy; Louis will also be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
