It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Madeleine Mary (Johnston) Rudiger, of Lac La Biche at the age of 88 years. She passed away peacefully in the compassionate care of the Smoky Lake Hospital on March 9, 2024.
Madeleine will be lovingly remembered by her children Pauline Arfmann and Roberta (Bob) Scott grandchildren Melissa (Dennis) Shannon, Vanessa (Bradley) Plamondon, Natasha Arfmann, Brennan Scott, Joshua Scott and great-grandchildren Josiah Shannon and Charity Shannon (Xanthus Schaub). Also, her brother and sisters, Esther Rudiger, Ron Johnston, Mary Johnston, Linda (Gilbert) Cardinal, and Pat (Kerri) Archibald. Brothers and sister’s in-law Janette Johnston, Jean Johnston, Anne Johnston, Annette Brown, Yvonne Rudiger, Fran Rudiger, Patrick (Angel) Rudiger, Dennis Rudiger, Collette Cadieux and John (Monique) Rudiger. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 48 and a half years, Robert Rudiger. Her parents Leonide and Esther Johnston, father-in-law and mother-in-law Louie and Lucienne Rudiger, son-in-law Gary Afrmann. Her brothers and sisters William (Lorainne) Johnston, Emma (Lester) Bates, Joe Johnston, Dolphus Johnston, and Harry Johnston. Brothers and Sisters in-law, Grace Johnston, Esther (Alex) Siry, Cecile (Vic) Laventure, Paul Rudiger, Emile (Linda) Rudiger, Leon (Louise) Rudiger. As well as nieces, nephews, and cousins
