Marie Kozakevich

On Monday, June 24, 2024, Marie Kozakevich of Lac La Biche, AB passed away at the age of 93 years.
Marie is survived by her children Bernie Kozakevich of Fort Saskatchewan, Shirley (Tony) Taylor of Fort Saskatchewan, (Dale) Gauthier of Lac La Biche, Orest Kozakevich of Sylvan Lake, Dale (Lea) Kozakevich of Lac La Biche, Eugene (Charlene) Kozakevich of Duncan, BC, grandchildren Twyla (Darrin), Kimberley (Lawrence), Heather (Brad), Jordan (Bobbie-Jo), Camille (Sean), Joshua (Katelyn),Wren (Giovanna), Kelly, Jerad, Jenna, Lyndsay (Mathew), Layne (Kevin), Kelsie(Jordan), Carter (Kaneesha), Nicholas, 18 great grandchildren; sister Nancy Chernyk of Fort Saskatchewan, sister Sophie (Metro) Ratzoy of Fort Saskatchewan, sister in law Katie Eleniak of Chipman numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marie is predeceased by her husband George Kozakevich in 1999, daughter Doris Gauthier in 2018, daughter in law Vivenne (Bernie) Kozakevich in 1991, sister Sylvia Wowk in 2019, father William Eleniak in 1977, mother Helen Eleniak-Kitt in 1981 (Alex Kitt in 1981), brother's Paul Eleniak in 1992, Peter Eleniak in 1947, Joe Eleniak in 2007, sister in law Irene Eleniak in 2004, brother in law Edward Wowk in 1993, brother in law Leonard Chernyk in 2022.
Mother always said that she had a very good life. She loved each of her children equally. She passed the way she wanted; at home, falling asleep and not waking up.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Craigend Hall with the Rev. Fr. Dr. Roman Shiyan officiating.
Pallbearers were Kimberley Staples, Joshua Gauthier, Wren Kozakevich, Dreytan Pierce, Carter Kozakevich, Jenna Kozakevich.
Special thanks to the special people who took care of mom during her time of need: the administrative staff of Southfort Gardens, the Home Care staff, the kitchen staff at Southfort Gardens, the cleaning staff. Thanks to her doctors; Dr. Kumari, and Dr. AlKurtass.
In lieu of flowers donations send donations to St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Craigend, AB.Internment will follow in the St. Demetrius cemetery.
