Mary Dunn Obituary

Mary Annabell Dunn (Hutchinson) at the age of 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love, on Monday September 27, 2021 in Lac La Biche, Alberta.

Mary was a loving wife of 56 years to husband Robert Dunn of Lac La Biche, devoted mother to daughter Dionne Dunn of Edmonton and daughter and son-in-law Jacquie and Andrew Holko of Edmonton, and cherished Grandma to Renata, Gabriela and Maksymilian Holko all of Edmonton.

Mary was also survived by her sister Norah Hutchinson of Vancouver, brother James (Jen) Hutchinson of Whitecourt, brother Dale (Kim) Hutchinson of Fort Saskatchewan, sisters-in-law Evelyn Hutchinson of Fernie, Sharon Hutchinson of Lac La Biche, brother-in law Andy Doucette of Quesnel as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she cared for so deeply.

Mary was predeceased by her mother Winnie Hutchinson on April 4, 2021, father Jim  Hutchinson in 1987, and siblings Joseph Hutchinson, Ellen Doucette, Bertrum Hutchinson, and Edward Hutchinson.

Born to Winnie and Jim Hutchinson on March 11, 1943 in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Mary was the eldest of eight children and naturally took to being a caregiver at an early age as the big sister. Mary went on to continue caregiving receiving her training as a  Licensed Practical Nurse at the Edmonton General Hospital. It was as a young nurse in Fort Smith that she met and married Robert Dunn in 1965.  They went on to have two daughters and settled to raise the family in Lac La Biche where Mary worked for several years as a LPN. As an avid gardener, quilter, seamstress, and baker, she always had a project or two on the go.
Family and faith were everything to Mary and her reason for being.
