Born to Llewellyn and Mary Lloyd-Walters on December 2, 1918 in Fort Resolution, NWT, Winnie was the proud daughter of a North West Mounted Police member and the fourth of ten siblings. In her early years she worked in the Fort McMurray hospital, but once married, her passion and joy became raising her 8 children as well as numerous foster children. An avid cook, baker, beader and seamstress she was always busy. Later in life she loved to travel and square dance with Jim making many lasting friendships along the way.
We will miss her keen sense of humour which she exhibited frequently by way of a smart quip or humorous response when one least expected it.
As a reflection of her love for children and her Catholic faith, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp St. Louis. This is a faith based camp operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of St. Paul. www.campstlouis.ca.
