Paul Emile Germain

Ardent trapper, fisherman extraordinaire, dedicated hunter, avid outdoorsman, prolific berry picker, carpenter, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Always remembered and never forgotten, the family of Paul-Emile Germain regretfully but also joyously announce his entrance into the eternal kingdom on April 1, 2022 at the age of 91. 

He was born in La Sarre, Québec on July 17, 1930, the second of twelve children born to Arthur and Marie-Louise Germain. Like many before and after him, he set out west with his family in search of greener pastures. Stopping briefly in Saskatchewan, and apparently not finding it green enough, they settled briefly in Breynat, and then Wandering River, where he met the love of his life, Laurette. In 1958, when he was 28, Paul and Laurette settled in Plamondon, where he lived out the remainder of his days.

Paul is survived by Laurette, his loving wife of 70 years, children Claude (Alke) of Valemount, BC, Bernard (Leonie) of Plamondon, Guy (Jacinthe) of Edmonton, brothers Joseph and Real (Georgette), sisters Madeline (Stan) and Magella, 9 grandchildren Nicholas (Jessica), Dustin (Missina), Tom (Allison), Scott (Michelle), Jamie (Alexis), Noland (Anna), Sébastien, Raven (Richard), Erika, 10 great grandchildren Kyle, Tyler, Kayla, Zahavah, Aeris, Darken, Asher, Audrey, Brooklyn, Jackson, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Paul is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Marie-Louise Germain, brothers Andre and Benoit, sisters Rose-Aimee, Therese, Rita, Pauline, and Marie, and granddaughter Elora.

Cremation will take place, and a funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 11 AM at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Plamondon, with Reverend Father Jestoni Porras officiating, assisted by Deacon Guy Germain. Interment will follow at the St. Isidore Catholic Cemetery, and then we will gather to celebrate, reminisce, and remember a life well lived. 

His grandchildren Nicholas, Dustin, Tom, Scott, Jamie, Noland, and Sébastien will act as honorary pallbearers, assisted by the angelic choir.
