Roderick Cardinal, a man who loved deeply and lived for the outdoors, passed away on April 11, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta, surrounded by family at the age of 84 years, leaving behind a legacy of devotion.
His greatest story began over 40 years ago when he met Beatrice; for him, it was love at first sight. In the early days of their romance, Rod could be found waiting faithfully outside Bea’s work nearly every day, a testament to the 38 years of marriage that followed. A true Ford enthusiast, Rod was happiest behind the wheel or out in the wild. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who found peace in nature. Nothing beat a meal of wild moose for him, especially when it was one he had harvested himself. Together, he and Bea shared a love for travel, exploring the world side-by-side to the tune of his favorite country music.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife Beatrice Cardinal; children: Lynn Cardinal, Naomi Cardinal, Oliver Cardinal, Leo Quinn; grandchildren: Shanelle Cardinal, Blayze Cardinal, Kayla Cardinal, Karissa Cardinal, Kelton Neumann, Cheyenne Ebens, Shelby Ebens, Sasha Ebens, Sierra Cardinal, Cassandra Wieshlow, Bentley Dixon Berg, Taylor Cardinal, Kason Schmutz; great grandchildren: Shanessa Cardinal, Zander Quinn; brothers: Johnny Cardinal, Louis Cardinal; sisters: Mary Jane Rivard, Nancy Cardinal; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
