Shirley Warawa Obituary

Shirley Warawa passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 65 years, in Lac La Biche, Alberta, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and devotion.

Known for her incredible work ethic and a smile that could light up any room, she found her greatest joy in her family; her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were truly the light of her life along with her passion for the best pajamas and her obsession for shoes. In her younger years, Shirley expressed her vibrant spirit through painting and drawing, and she remained a talented seamstress throughout her life. Whether she was dressed in her favorite shade of blue or enjoying a competitive game of cribbage, her loving nature always shone through. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves with cherished memories, her children: Shauna (Gilles) Beaupre, Joanne McKenzie, Sharleen (Chris) Gore, Jessica (Allan) McKenzie; honorary son: Blake (Becky) Chwedoruk; grandchildren: Annabelle McKenzie-Scott, Cain (Mackenzie)Scott, Guy Requier, Summer Requier, Deacon VanEe, Bethanie Lavallee, Dexter VanEe, Tanner Reid; honorary grandchildren: Nate Chwedoruk, Nixon Chwedoruk; great grandchildren: Amara Brake, Kai Rumbolt; sister/partner in crime: Marie (James) Warawa; brothers: Ronald (Florence) Warawa, Kevin (Lise) Warawa, Kenny (Susie) Warawa; brother-in-law: Gordy Cadieux; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends, and her extended family at Chedkor Trucking.

Shirley was predeceased by her granddaughter: Taylor McKenzie; parents: Marcel & Polly Warawa; grandparents: William & Eva Ponich, Fred & Marie Warawa; siblings: Willy Warawa, Donna (Roy) Boucher, Grace Cadieux.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, Lac La Biche, Alberta. Pastor Emmanuel Chiwele will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Annabelle McKenzie-Scott, Cain McKenzie-Scott, Guy Requier, Summer Requier, Deacon VanEe, Bethanie Lavallee, Dexter VanEe, Tanner Reid
