Duane was a 'happening' guy! I will never forget his support and generosity when I started up and helped to raise money for the JAWS Huskies Football team. Who else would of said 'OK' to a donkey in the dinning room! J.K. Rowling wrote, "Death is the next great adventure." Duane, your next quest has only begun..... have fun! Pat Boon-Anderson

We are so sorry for your loss. We lived in LacLaBiche in the early 1980's and remember Duane fondly. We always appreciated his commitment to the town and the people living there. We loved coming to the hotel for lunch (and a beer on Saturday). Leanne is a good friend of our daughter and we were able, through her, to "follow" Duane and his work. He will be missed. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

i am so very sorry to hear this news. My deepest condolences to the family. My late husband, Jimmy Mac (as he was known in Lac La Biche), met Duane in the 1970's when he came from the states to play baseball and they developed a lifelong friendship. I remember how Duane was so welcoming to me when we met, Years later, he flew down to attend my husband's funeral, which was so thoughtful and he gave me a beautiful blanket with the Canadian leaf logo on it which I cherish to this day.

DY left a legacy in the business community employing so many people year round, participating in politics and caring so much for our province, his dedication to helping people and the contributions to pow wow and sports is large! And to be a part of the Dodgers sponsorship with him and others is something I will
cherish. His respect to the Aboriginal culture was second to none. DY was definately the "go to guy". God Bless you all. Rest In Peace our friend.
