On Monday May 16, 2016 Hannah Catherine Messal (formerly of Newbrook, AB) passed away at the age of 82 years. Hannah is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Helmut Messal of Lac La Biche, AB, daughter Karen (Loran) Andrichuk of Lac La Biche, AB.; Grandchildren, Lorelea, Saralea, Nathan & Stephan Andrichuk, sister in law Linda Clarke of Edmonton, AB, brother in law Leroy Messal of Edmonton, AB.
    She is survived by nieces Joanne Avery Goswell of Maple Ridge, B.C.; Dawn (Les) Wilson of Lethbridge, AB, Lise (Keith) Bastien of Nepean, Ontario, Julie (Gary) Aloisio of Edmonton, AB, Jenna Clarke of Edmonton, AB and Mona Messal of Edmonton, AB.
    She is survived by nephews Dorian (Iris) Avery of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Darrel (Donna) Avery of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Sheldon (Donna) Brown of St. Albert, AB, Lance Brown of McBride, B.C., Daniel Clarke of Vancouver, B.C.,  and Trevor (Doleen) Messal of Edmonton, AB.
    She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, which she held very close to her heart.
    Hannah is predeceased by parents Percy and Louise Jones, sisters Doreen Bastien, Irene Lehtonen, and Pamelia Slade, infant brother Percy George Jones and infant sister Caroline Jones, mother and father in law Ella and August Messal, brothers-in-law Willy Messal, Eric Lehtonen, Tom Slade, Ron Brown, and Gilbert Avery, sister in law Pat Messal, special aunt and namesake Hannah Jones, Uncle Edwin, Uncle Percy, Uncle August (Joe) Reedel, and Uncle Bill Reedel., Uncle Herb, and Aunt Thordis, Uncle Tommy, Aunt Annie, Aunt Thelma, Uncle Gilbert, Uncle Henry, Aunty Mary and other aunts and uncles who were close.
    She is also predeceased by nephew Jimmy Bastien, nieces Melody Brown, niece Peggy Ann Brown, close cousins Dave and Percy Jones, Agnes Anderson, Lily Whitehead, Gladys and Lowe Andrews, Bert and Marie Jones, Melvin Jones and many other cousins which were special to her.
    Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 1 pm at the Evangelical Free Church in Lac La Biche, AB with Pastor Daren and Pastor Dawid Resandt officiating. Cremation followed.
