Sorry to hear of your loss and sorry we were unable to attend the memorial service. I have fond memories of summers at Uncle Melvin's, helping with the farm, fencing, getting cut with barbwire, going to the lake, walking in the dark from Grandmas to Melvin and Helen's, killing chickens, flying planes, driving old VW's through the fields and many other adventures. Life truly is a short gift from God that goes by too quickly. Sharon's last uncle also died the same week uncle Melvin did (in Pennsylvania). We are praying for you and will continue to during this difficult time of change and loss.

My deepest condolences to you all. I will miss Uncle Melvin so much. I'm very sorry to miss the funeral. We're too far away to make it back in time. May the funeral be a place of gathering and deep mourning and also of celebration. He loved, he lived, he grieved and in spite of that, he still had his passions.
Dana

My thoughts and prayers to the Rayment family on your loss. I just wanted to share a small story...quite a few years back when My Dad (Nick Owchar) and Melvin came to pick me up in Edmonton Mother's Day weekend - we stopped at a Greenhouse and I bought flowers for my Mom and Melvin bought some for Helen. He kept telling me mine wouldn't last a year in the garden and so - we made a bet. A whopping $1. I found out that I won the bet - but, Melvin would argue the case and eventually he went from owing me to a dollar...to me owning him $1 plus interest!!! We would bug each other about it every time we saw each other. I'm sure going to miss his sense of humour and I know my Dad is going to miss one of his best friends.
